Spore Atlas
A microscopy reference for every strain we carry — spore print colour, typical spore dimensions, and the magnification to view them at. For identification & study.

Microscopy 101
New to the scope? Here's how to get a clean, study-ready view of your spores.
1. Prepare a wet mount
Place a single small drop from your syringe onto a clean glass slide, lower a cover slip at an angle to avoid bubbles, and wick away any excess from the edge.
2. Start low, then climb
Find the field at 40×–100×, centre a cluster of spores, then step up to 400×. For fine detail and measuring, switch to 1000× with a drop of immersion oil.
3. Measure in microns
Use a stage micrometer to calibrate an eyepiece graticule, then read spore length × width in µm. Most cubensis-type spores fall around 11–17 µm × 7–10 µm.
4. Note the print colour
Spore print colour — from purple-brown to rusty tones — is a key identification feature. Compare against the Spore Atlas entry for each strain.
5. Keep it clean
Flame or alcohol-wipe tools between samples, cap your syringe between sessions, and store cool & dark (2–8°C) to keep specimens crisp.
All specimens are sold for microscopy & taxonomy research only. Always follow your local laws.
